Using Simple Tiles to Flip Between Reports

Overview

Users can configure the Selection Bus settings within two Simple Tiles to flip between two designated Reports. This action requires using a Page/Dashboard, the Create Tile Data Step and Report Viewer Control from the Toolbox, and Report IDs from two created Reports. 

How to Create a Simple Tile

To create a Simple Tile, create or open an existing Page/Dashboard:

• Search for Simple Tile in the Toolbox and drag it into the Workspace.

Configuring Simple Tiles to Flip Between Two Reports

To configure a Simple Tile to flip between two Reports:

• Select Pick or Create Flow > Create New.
• Name the Tile Source Flow and select Create.

• Select the Create Tile Data Step and scroll down to Actions in the Properties Panel.
  •  In the Tile Action Type (Left Click) Drop-down, select Push Data to Controls.
    • To show actions on right click, check the Show Actions on Right Click check box. 
  • This action will populate Data Bus Name and Data Bus Value as two new fields.
  • Type a name in the Data Bus Name field as a Constant Valueand add a value to the Data Bus Value field.
    • The value for the Data Bus Value field is the Report ID that will populate in the Report Viewer.  

      
      

• To customize the title of a Simple Tile, type in the desired name in the Line 1 field under Tile Setup and select Constant.
• Repeat the above steps to create the next Simple Tile.
• Once the Simple Tiles have been created, search for a Report Viewer in the Toolbox and drag it onto the Workspace. 
  • Select the Report Viewer and check Get Report ID from Selection Bus.
  • Type in the same name of the Selection Bus created in the above steps for both Simple Tiles. 

Using Simple Tiles to Flip Between Two Reports on a Dashboard

The following example demonstrates how Simple Tiles with Selection Bus settings enabled can flip between Reports on a Page/Dashboard. A left-click action on both Simple Tiles navigates to the associated reports, and the Reports can be flipped back and forth.
