Overview

The End-of-Lifecycle (EOL) Support User Guide outlines the support status of Decisions software releases and associated platform dependencies. This guide enables Users to verify whether an environment is running a supported version, review upcoming End-of-Life milestones, and proactively plan upgrades to maintain support eligibility.

Maintaining a supported version of Decisions ensures continued access to product enhancements, security updates, compatibility improvements, and technical support services. Environments running unsupported or retired versions may experience reduced access to fixes and assistance and may require additional upgrade considerations when moving to a supported release.

Support status is periodically updated as new Decisions versions are released and as underlying third-party technologies reach their own end-of-support dates. Users are encouraged to review this guide regularly as part of upgrade planning and long-term platform strategy.

When a Decisions version reaches End of Life (EOL), it is no longer eligible for maintenance releases, security updates, defect corrections, or standard support services. Documentation, downloads, and other version-specific resources may also be retired from the Documentation site. To minimize operational risk and ensure continued support, customers should retain any required version-specific resources and upgrade to a supported release before their current version reaches EOL.

Why Upgrade?

Upgrading to a supported version ensures:

  • Access to current bug fixes and security updates.
  • Compatibility with supported operating systems, databases, and browsers.
  • Access to new product features and improvements.
  • Continued assistance from Decisions Support.
  • Reduced risk when upgrading through multiple major versions.

Running unsupported versions may limit available fixes, require additional upgrade steps, or prevent support from resolving issues that cannot be addressed in older releases.

End-of-Life (EOL) Timelines and Support

A product version reaches End of Life (EOL) when it is no longer eligible for maintenance, security patches, bug fixes, or technical support. To ensure product stability, security, and maintainable engineering practices, Decisions adheres to the following EOL timelines for major releases, minor releases, and unsupported versions:

Major Releases

A Major version (e.g., v2.x, v3.x) enters End of Life 2 years after its initial release date.

Once a major release reaches EOL, the company will:

  • discontinue all maintenance and patching activities.
  • no longer provide bug fixes or security updates.

Customers must upgrade to a supported major version to continue receiving maintenance and technical assistance.

Minor Releases

A Minor version (e.g., v3.4, v3.5) enters End of Life 6 months after the release of the next minor version within the same major family.

Once a minor release reaches EOL, the company will:

  • Cease all patches, fixes, and updates.
  • Support only upgrade-related issues for moving to a current version.

Minor versions must be kept current to remain eligible for support.

Unsupported Versions

Any product version beyond these timelines is considered unsupported. The company:

  • will not develop or apply patches.
  • will not investigate or remediate defects.
  • may require customers to upgrade before troubleshooting can continue.
  • may deny support cases related to outdated versions.
