Article summary

Overview

A comment is intended to contain any notes of interest to the user, for example, additional information regarding a record. Adding a comment to a process folder is very simple as there is already a section in the Process view page that has an Add Comment section.

The example below uses an existing Process Folder and Default Process View page.
For information on Process Folders navigate to Using Process Folders.
For more information on Process View Page navigate to About the Process View Page.

Adding Comments to Process Records

Comments can be added to existing data records. Each Process Folder Record has a default Process view page. This page contains a Folder activity page control where all the activity for the record is recorded. At the bottom of this Folder activity, page control is an Add Comment section. The user can input any text in there and upon submission that text will be added to the Activity Panel. Now this comment will be attached to the record. In addition, Files can also be uploaded to the record by using the attachment button next to the Comment box.

Example

For the example below, there is an existing record for a Lunch Order. A comment, "Order on hold, food not available for pickup" was added to the Process Folder.

Upon submission, the comment was added to the Activity Panel. In addition, a document was added to the Process Folder, "test2Document.pdf".

Users have the additional functions of either downloading that file or updating it. For this example, "test2Document.pdf" was replaced with "testDocument.pdf". Notice that the original filename is still available but not downloadable. Therefore, the activity panel keeps a record of historical activities conducted on a record.
