WARNING: VERSION 8 BETA IS NOT FOR PRODUCTION USE!

This beta version of the Decisions platform is still undergoing testing before its official release. The platform and all content found on it are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis.  Decisions does not supply warranties, whether express or implied, as to the suitability or usability of the beta software.

Decisions will not be liable for any loss, whether such loss is direct, indirect, special, or consequential, suffered by any party as a result of downloading, installing, and/or using the Decisions Version 8 (v8) Beta platform. As such, any Beta platform use is done at the user’s own risk and the user will be solely responsible for any damage to any computer system or loss of data that results from such activities.

Architecture Change to .NET Core 6
Version 8 Upgrade Impact
  • ALL custom libraries will need to be recompiled for .NET Core
  • Custom assemblies will need to be re-written
  • Supported Modules will need to be replaced and/or refactored
  • Projects using XML/XSD data structures may require remapping
  • Web Service Integrations require .NET Core SDK
IMPORTANT
  • Keep current back-ups of the database(s), Keys.dat file, and File Storage
  • On upgrade to v8.x, downgrades to v6.x will NOT be supported
  • Upgrades from versions prior to v7 will require an "uninstall" ahead of installing v8 due to .NET architecture changes
  • Running multiple versions with the same database will NOT be supported
  • LESS files from prior versions are not directly compatible with v8.x

Changes from v6 to v8

  • Internet Explorer (IE) is no longer supported
  • Clicking Debug in the Flow Designer will no longer autosave the Flow
  • Restarting Services from the System Folder is no longer available
  • Calling Flows and Rules as WCF services is no longer supported
  • Service Integrations are disabled by default

Recommended Install

Use the Self Hosted installation option for the simplest configuration of the v8 Beta.
