Require a Comment on Save

Overview

When a Designer element is saved in Decisions, a comment can be optionally entered when using the Save action. An administrator account in the Decisions environment can enable a feature that requires a Save comment anytime an element is saved. This effect applies globally to all accounts developing within the Studio. All comments are stored in an audit trail and can be accessed by right-clicking the name of the element, then navigating to Manage > See Audit History. 

This feature must be enabled from the Studio. In the FOLDERS tree on the left, navigate to System > Settings and find Designer Studio Settings in the list. In the ALL DESIGNERS section at the top of the window, enable the Require Comment On Save checkbox and SAVE.

In the animation below, a step is added to a Flow. Upon selecting the Save action in the Flow Designer and attempting to select SAVE again without comment, a popup appears to notify the user that a comment is required. Once a comment is provided, the action executes without a validation warning.
