Overview
The Telephony Module in Decisions gives users the ability to integrate with the Plivo or Twilio telephony service APIs. Using the module allows users to manage their business communications with customers by sending and receiving SMS text messages or Interactive Voice Response (IVR) voice calls.
Prerequisites
- Access to either a Plivo or Twilio Account and API. Visit https://www.plivo.com or https://www.twilio.com.
- Installation of the Telephony Module. To learn more about installing modules, see Installing Modules in Decisions.
- The Portal hostname must be resolvable by the Twilio service (the portal base URL should not be localhost).
Example
The following example will demonstrate how to set up a Twilio account using the Telephony Module.
- Navigate to System > Settings > Telephony Settings.
- In the Edit Telephony Settings window, enter the Authentication Token and SecretAuth Token received from the service provider. Select the appropriate Telephony type in the Telephony Adapter Type dropdown menu.
- Click SAVE to save changes.
- Configure the phone number(s) in the IVR service that will be used with IVR Flows on this Decisions server.
- Navigate to System > Settings. Right-click Telephony Settings and select Show URL for Telephony Settings.
- Copy the URL and click OK.
- Paste the URL in the Twilio IVR service settings for the phone number that will be used.
