Overview
The Text Extraction Agent allows organizations to maximize the full value of their documents by converting unstructured text into structured, actionable data that was previously locked in manual review workflows. It captures and interprets content from any unstructured source, such as handwritten prescriptions, tax returns, onboarding packets, contracts, scanned images, social media content, transcripts, emails, PDFs, or externally stored files.
Through advanced OCR, AI-driven prompt orchestration, and configurable validation workflows, the Agent converts free-form content into structured, usable data that can drive downstream automation, populate systems of record, trigger actions, or enforce business rules.
By transforming unstructured inputs into operational data, organizations can accelerate processing cycles, increase accuracy, strengthen compliance, and activate information across their organization.

Utilizing the Text Extraction Agent
The Text Extraction Agent process involves the following key steps:
- Add a Department: This action allows Users to create a new Department and add it to the TEA: Departments Dashboard. Users can also specify whether the Department should utilize customized or default OCR settings. Respective Edit Department and Delete Department actions are available should a Department need to be updated or removed.
- Edit Categorization: This action enables Users to edit categorization logic, including adding and removing prompts, and adjusting AI Settings for the selected department.
- Create Prompts: Users can create four types of prompts: Simple Prompts, Prompt Chains, Peek Prompts, and Process Prompts. Once created, each type of prompt will be displayed in a dedicated Dashboard. Prompts can be edited and deleted as needed.
- Test User Action: This User Action allows Users to upload or select multiple test documents and execute the prompt directly against them. Users also have the flexibility to choose which AI Provider and Model to test with, enabling quick comparison and fine-tuning.
