Overview
A user can add a chart to display the report’s data in a different format when viewing a report. There are many chart types to choose from, including Pie, Bars, and Columns.
A report must already contain a chart (for example, data columns) for a user to add a chart at runtime.
Example
This example shows a Report Viewer already placed on a Page/Dashboard. To learn how to create a report and a dashboard, please navigate to the Create a Report and Create Dashboard articles.
- On the existing Page, select the Report Viewers Settings icon. Under Actions, select the Add an Ad-hoc chart icon.
- In the Add Chart dialog, select the Chart Type and give the Chart a Title. If there are multiple groupings on the Report, pick the specified grouping in the Field dropdown.
- Select ADD CHART.
- The ad-hoc chart will appear alongside the default chart. To remove the ad-hoc chart, click the Remove Ad-hoc Chart button.
