Article Summary

Overview

The Decisions Studio is the interface where creative development occurs. From the Studio, Designer Elements such as Flows, Forms, and Rules can be created and configured to work together as applications for performing specified business processes. Additionally, Admin users utilize the Decisions Studio to control access to specific Settings, handle activities such as assigned tasks, or apply Permissions to specific user accountsSuch Permissions allow Admins the ability to control which objects can be viewed/used by an account.

For information on how to adjust Settings pertaining to the Decisions Studio, see Designer Studio Settings.

Global Action Bar

From the Global Action Bar, selecting the user (person) icon displays the current user and the user's Timezone, as well as the user menu that contains features such as Account Settings, About Decisions, and Logout options.

The Search Box has moved from the Folder Tree to the Global Action Bar. Further, Breadcrumbs are also displayed within the Global Action Bar; these Breadcrumbs are clickable to navigate throughout the Parent Folders

The different Page Views are listed under the Search Bar. While in a Designer Project, the CREATE buttons will be seen under the orange banner, with the ability to pin this bar to the top of the browser when scrolling or unpinning to hide the bar.

Folder Organization

All Folders are stored and sorted on the left side in an element called the Folder Tree. The Folder Tree is sorted into the following out-of-the-box categories:

  • My Documents
  • All Assignments
  • Getting Started
  • Inbox
  • My Apps
  • System

When a Folder is selected, its contents and any other details are displayed on a page in the Studio's FOLDER VIEW. When a Folder or element is selected in the Studio a list of actions can be seen on the right side. To add an additional Designer Project or Folder, select the plus icon next to the FOLDERS header at the top of the Folder Tree.

Designer Projects

A Designer Project is a Folder that holds other Folders, Designer Projects, and Designer Elements. The elements are created by selecting from the action menu displayed at the bottom of the Designer View. As elements are created and stored in a Designer Project the contents are organized by category and the title can be seen above the created element. For example, after a Flow is created the Flow will be saved in the Designer Project under the category called “Flow”.

For more information on Designer Projects, see

Folders

The contents of a Folder will be different from that of a Designer Project. Folders may contain other folders, used for displaying Dashboards, or holding data that is stored in Decisions. However, they will not contain designer elements such as Flows, Rules, Forms, etc.

For more information on using Folders, see:

Permissions On Folders

To control access to specific Folders/Designer Projects, Admins may utilize Permissions that provide rights/access to specific users for a Designer Element or Folder. This may be applied for design purposes and security for the Designer Project.

To learn more on Permissions for Folders/Designer Projects, see:

App Store

In the Studio, there is a folder called APP STORE. This Folder contains multiple default example projects that can be installed within the Decisions environment.
Clicking on the DETAILS button displays a landing page that summarizes that specific Application and its associated Decisions elements.

For more information on the App Store, see Introduction to the App Store

Systems Folder

The System Folder contains a dashboard page with important metrics related to the Decisions environment. Inside of the System Folder, there are several nested Folders that contain a multitude of different configuration options for the environment such as account management sections, scheduled jobs, and more.

To learn more about the Systems Folder, see System Folders Tree

Searching the Studio

To the left of the notification bell icon is the global OmniSearch Bar for the Decisions environment. As shown in the screenshot below, searching for a term, for example 'Forms, in a Decisions environment returns all of the Designer Elements/Decisions Objects related to the provided keyword. To get results from the search, the user must submit the search by pressing the Enter key.
