# Serialize to Edi

The **Serialize to Edi** step serializes EDI messages.

### Prerequisites

- This step requires the [X12](https://documentation.decisions.com/docs/x12-interchange?highlight=X12) module to be [installed](https://documentation.decisions.com/docs/installing-modules-decisions) before it will be available in the toolbox.
- **For v9 Users**: Add a [Project Dependency](https://documentation.decisions.com/docs/project-dependencies#add-a-project-dependency-or-enable-a-module) once the X12 Module is installed.
