# Post Message to Channel

The **Post Message to Channel** sends a message to the specified channel as the integrated application. The step requires the Channel ID, which can be retrieved by using the [Get Channel ID by Name](/step-library/docs/get-channel-id-by-name) step, or through Slack.

### Prerequisites

The step requires the **Slack Module** to be [installed](https://documentation.decisions.com/v8/docs/installing-modules-decisions) before it will be available in the toolbox.
