Setting Up Date/Time TranslationLast Updated: 03/28/2018 Introduced in Version: 2.0
Decisions lets you turn on date/time translation with a simple setting. Turning on translation lets users see all date/time values in their local time zones instead of the timezone of the Decisions server. (This assumes users are hitting a server from another time zone. If all users are in the same time zone as the Decisions server there is no need for translation.)
For example, if you have tasks with due dates assigned to users in various time zones, translation lets those users see those dates correctly relative to their location.
To enable translation, set the Decisions server clock to UTC (GMT) time zone then enable the UseTimeZoneTranslation property in the Decisions system settings (by default stored in C: > Program Files > Decisions > Decisions Services Manager > Settings.xml). You can also set this property through the Decisions installer.
On the Decisions server, set the local machine time zone to UTC (GMT).
Navigate to the Settings.xml file (by default stored in C: > Program Files > Decisions > Decisions Services Manager) and open it with Notepad or another editor. Locate the UseTimeZoneTranslation property and set it to “true”. Save and close the file.
Alternately, you can change this setting through the Decisions installer. To do this, run the installer and click Edit Settings.
Locate the UseTimeZoneTranslation property and set it to True. Complete the installer as you usually would.
