# Using the Split String Step

This Example Lab demonstrates how to Split a String by a Space.

## Explanation

This Flow establishes a String called "String to Split" with a "abc def ghi jkl" value to pass into the **Split String by Spaces** step. After establishing that, set up the Split String step. The "Source" input will be mapped to the value "String to Split". Then set the **S****eparator** input as a "Space" (space bar).
