Login User Flow Behavior

This tutorial demonstrates how to trigger some processes in Decisions based on User Login event. This functionality was introduced in Decisions 4.0.

Example:

In this example we are going to create a Flow that will be triggered when user logs in to Decisions Portal. Also, this Flow will be sending an Email notifying us about this.

We begin in the Designer Folder with clicking Create Flow on the Folder Actions Panel.

Then, we Name the Flow. Also, we pick Login User Flow from Behavior drop-down list. Click Ok to continue.

In the Flow Designer we add Send Email step from Favorite Steps category.

Next, we configure mapping data for our Send Email step.

For our Email Body we use Text Merge.Plain Mapping Type. Note, in Login User Flow Behavior we have Login User Info data that can be used in the Flow.

We compose our email body in the Merge Text Editor and click Ok to save and continue.

Next, we connect the outcome from the Send Email Step to the End Step in our Flow. This completes our Flow. We can save the Flow and close Flow Designer.

Note: this Flow is not going to be triggered automatically when User Logs In. We need to point our Portal to this Flow to trigger it on User Log In.

We navigate to System > Settings Folder in Portal and Edit Portal Settings.

We search for “login”, locate Login > Login User Flow (Executed after User Login), and click Pick.

Then, we pick our Flow that we created previously in this tutorial and click Ok to save and continue.

Next, we click Ok to save changes to Portal Settings.

Now, when User Logs In to the Portal

We receive new Email notification.
