You can set a minimum and maximum number for data displayed in a report. In this example we will create a report of logs according to level, display the data with a Bars chart, then adjust the minimum and maximum settings.

In Decisions, right-click a Designer Folder. In the Designer Folder , click Add > Designer Folder.

Name your folder and click Save. For this example we've chosen the name "Setting Min Max on Charts."

Click on the new Designer Folder and then click the Report icon.

Name your report and click Create. For this example we've chosen the name "Log Levels."

In the Report Designer, under Data Sources , click Add > Infrastructure > Current Logs. This sets the report to use the current log data as its data source.

Under Data Field, click Add > Level. Then click Close. This sets the report to use the log level (for example, Info, Warn, Error ) as the specific data set to display.

On the right side of the Level header, hover to show display controls and click the Grouping icon.

The log levels now display in groups.

Under Views, click Add > Bars. In the Add Bars Chart dialog, name your chart and click OK. For this example we've chosen the name "Logs by Level." Notice this dialog also lets you set minimum and maximum values. You can set these properties now or wait to set them.

The report displays the data as shown below. In this example, the Error level logs far outnumber Info and Warn.

To limit the number of logs the chart can display in each bar we set a maximum value. To do this, in the right panel click Set Maximum Value then set the value below. For this example we've set the max value to 15.

Notice that the report adjusts the chart to respect the maximum value while still displaying the total value for each bar in the chart.
