# Inbox

## Overview

The Inbox is a default Dashboard available to all users, designed to provide a centralized view of Assignments. It displays key Assignment data through a combination of status tiles and a Report viewer, allowing users to quickly assess and manage their work.

The Dashboard includes three status tiles and a Report viewer that sources data from the **Entity_Assignment** data structure. The tiles provide a high-level summary of Assignment status, while the Report displays a detailed, filterable list of all open Assignments.

The Inbox is located under **Folders > Inbox**. The Report appears in the center of the Dashboard and shows all Assignments assigned to the user. Surrounding the Report are visual metrics that summarize Assignment data and enable quick interaction and filtering.

All data displayed within the Inbox is fully report-driven. This means it can be customized, extended, or recreated in other Dashboards using the same underlying Assignment data source and reporting components.

NoteStarting in version 9.26, assignments will no longer be visible to users who are explicitly excluded, even if they belong to a group that has been assigned to them.

The Report in the center of the screen shows a complete list of open Assignments. Users can search, refresh, expand, and group the data using the tools available in the top-right corner of the Report. ### My Assignments

The status of open Assignments is displayed in the three tiles across the top. Current assignments are displayed in the green box. Assignments that are getting close to their due date are in the yellow box in the middle. Assignments that have passed their required date are in the red box on the right. Clicking any tile will filter the Report in the center to show only the Assignments that share that status.

Assignments are grouped by the Project they originated from. Clicking any section of the chart opens a Report displaying the related Assignments. This graph is available in v9.11 and below.

### Assignments Created Per Month

This chart displays the number of Assignments created over a range of months. Clicking on a month opens a Report showing the corresponding Assignments. This chart is available in v9.11 and below.

### Chart Controls

The following controls are available on both charts:

1. Clicking this icon opens the Filters menu, allowing users to adjust colors, sorting, and displayed labels.
2. This icon opens the configuration menu where users can change the chart type.
3. This option opens the Report for further customization of displayed data (not recommended).
4. This expands the chart tile to full screen.
