# Add Sync Groups

## Overview

A **Sync Group** is a feature in Decisions that allows users the ability to control local group membership. Sync Group establishes a link between the two groups. For example, by syncing a local group with an AD group, AD will update the local group should any changes be made to the associated AD group. This feature allows one group's account members to be added or removed to another group without the task of adding the accounts one by one.

## Example

1. Before the Sync Group feature will work two settings must be configured. These can be configured when the Group is first created, or if the Group already exists, by right-clicking and selecting Edit Group.

2. Navigate to **System > Security > Groups,** and right-click the group to sync.

5. Alternatively, right-click the group and in the action menu, select **Edit Group.**

## Removing Sync Groups

To remove the **Sync**:

## Sync Group Settings

Toggling 'Specify Sync Group' from the Edit Group Settings panel allows users to set up and attach a Sync Group. It enables the appearance of a new panel entitled **Sync Group Information**. This allows users to set specific configurations for a Sync group, affecting how adding or removing members to either account creates changes in the other group.

| Setting | Purpose |
| --- | --- |
| Adding To Sync Group Adds To This Group | Adds accounts to this group when added to the affiliate Sync Group. |
| Removing From Sync Group Removes From This Group | Removes accounts from this group when removed from affiliate Sync Group |
| Remove Sync Group Accounts On Unhook | Removes Sync Group affiliated accounts when a user selects 'Remove Sync Group' |
| Adding Account To Subgroup Adds to Sync Group | Adding accounts to the Subgroup on AD adds them to the Sync Group. |
| Adding Accounts Only In This Group Is Allowed | Pulls over the accounts from AD that match accounts in this Decisions group only. |
| Removing Account In This Removes From Sync Group | Removing accounts also removes them from affiliate Sync Group. |

## Syncing Groups within Projects

Creating and syncing Groups work much the same way within Projects.
