Displaying Report Matrices in a Portal PageLast Updated: 05/03/2018 Introduced in Version: 2.0
Report matrices display totals of how many records match each value reported in a column. Each column is referred to as a dimension. Multiple dimensions can be compared along the x and y axes of the report matrix.
The report used as the matrix source must already have a matrix defined.
To add a matrix to a portal page, in the Report Designer, drag a Matrix component from the reports category in the Components Panel to the workspace, then set the Matrix Source in the Properties Panel.
The goal of this example is to:
- Create a portal page.
- Add a matrix to the page.
- View the page.
To begin, navigate to a Designer folder and click the Create Page>Page>Add Page button located at the bottom of the portal page.
In the resulting pop-up window, give the page a name and click Ok to open the Page Designer.
From the Toolbox Panel, expand the Reports category and drag a Matrix component to the workspace.
In the Properties Panel, in the Matrix Data section, select the Matrix Source selector.
Select a report the has been created with a Matrix View and click Ok.
This completes the page, save it and close the Page Designer.
To view the matrix, select the page’s thumbnail and select View > Preview Page from its Action menu.
The report opens in a new window and displays the report matrix.
